We made it to Three!!

Adam & Ben~almost 3!
Ben & Adam~ 2 years old

I can't believe how the time has flown. Over three years ago I was very happy with the little family we already had but Eric thought he needed 5 to make a basketball team. So we were in the process of praying what to do. Before I had a chance to make the decision I was already pregnant. I went to the doctor at 6 weeks because I was having awful pains. I thought I either had a cyst or an eptopic pregnancy. The doc did an ultrasound and told me it was gas. I started crying when he told me there were two sacks, meaning twins. I called Eric on my cell on the way home. I barely got out, "You're not going to believe this but we are having twins..." then my phone died.

I was in tears for the next 5 months. I came to terms with the fact that our family was going from 6 to 8 just in time to be put on bedrest. I endured (secretely loved) bedrest for 7 weeks. Then one night my mom decided to stay the night instead of driving home. Last time she did that my water broke at 7 am and Tommy was born two days later. Eric joked with her about this and then we all went to bed. At 4:30 am Eric knocked on my moms door and told her once again, my water broke and we were on the way to the hospital. Two hours later Baby B was born 10 minutes after his brother, Baby A. Thus their names...Adam & Benjamin.

The things I have learned about twins these past three years are~

1. Even though I had no intention of doing so, you must dress them exactly the same or else be prepared for an all out fight.
2. Twins have their own language. Forget about trying to understand it.
3. Toss aside all previous rules. Binkies, bottles, candy, anything to make it easier.
4. They always have a constant friend & protector but they also have a constant wrestling buddy.
5. There is double the work, double the insomnia, double the fights, but double the love.

I have been crazy these past three years but sometimes when I look at them my heart swells so big I feel like it is overflowing. Adam & Ben have brought so much love & happiness into our home. I know Heavenly Father had to send them at the same time because He knew I had reached my end. I am so grateful that He did. What a blessing they are!

I remember the day that my Mom told me that you were prego with twins! I couldn't believe it!!! They really are so cute-- and I admire you so much!! I doubt that I could ever handle twins. Somedays, I feel like I can handle mine and I only have 3!! I LOVE what you have learned... I LOVE IT! Take care and enjoy them!!

-k- Nan you had me there for a minute,I almost thought that I'd missed a day!
Happy Birthday tomorrow Adam and Benny!
I use to think I wanted twins until you did. Way to make it to three, Nan, it's all down hill from here and good thing they are so stinking cute because ugly twins might not of got away with as much. j/k Give them a big birthday kiss from Aunt Robin.

They are so cute!!!! I can't believe how much your kids look alike. I loved learning more about twins and about your pregnancy. I never knew that about your mom. I tell everyone that is talking about twins how you named them A and B. It is so cute. I have a friend that had a daughter Avery, and then had twins and named them Brielle and Celine and then had twins AGAIN and anmed them Devon and Ella...funny, and so cute!

Chaunette, we have the same alphabet deal going on in this family but it is extended. Adam, Ben, Connor, Daniel, Elizabeth(Lizzie). It wasn't planned at all. In fact Connor was due first but this is the order they came in. Sandee was planning on Elizabeth, so we urgerd her to do it to complete the 5 ~2005 babies.

Cute boys, Nan!

I still need to take Emily and Alecia to a movie or invite them over when I'm at my mom's for craft hour. :) Have they used their knitting looms?? I have tons of extra yarn, and I'd love to help them.

I really enjoy reading your blog. Keep it up!
