Heavenly Hubby

Like I mentioned before, my lack of sleep has many side effects. Can anyone say "snappy", "crazy", or just plain "mean"? After the twins were sick for four days(this was 2 wks ago) and Eric was working long hours, I was all three of these. Each night I would think I would sleep like a baby because I was so exhausted but then a twin would start to cough which caused the gag reflex which ended up with me changing the sheets or scrubbing the floor. I would sleep with a bowl next to me and as soon as I heard "the" cough (that said it was all coming up), I would dart to the room w/ a bowl. Proud to say I made it more than missed it, lots of practice.

Friday night Eric went to sleep in snow caves with the scouts and told me to find a hotel for me and the girls to go to for Saturday night so I could get some sleep. I wasn't going to do it because all I could find was questionable hotels for $80+. Saturday morning I decided I "needed" this. I got on Priceline and put in my price of $70, 4 stars. Thinking there was no way I would get a room because the average price for a 4 star hotel in SLC on a Saturday night was $160. To my surprise, I got a $170 room at the Hotel Monaco which is right downtown SLC.

The girls & I loaded up and headed to Salt Lake to relax. We spent the afternoon and evening at Gateway, shopping, eating and going to the movie. It was great. We headed back to the hotel and walked down to the ice rink & watched the skaters. As we walked back to the hotel we came across channel 2, KUTV's studio (which we could see from our bedroom window) and stood outside their window for the 10 o'clock news. The girls ran from the window as soon as they saw that they really were on TV.

I didn't get any sleep because of a constant beeping noise in our room, but it was such a great time to spend with my girls. They do so much for me and this was a great way to repay them for the wonderful girls that they are. My husband is my angel! He took on the sick twins and the house was so clean! He is such a miracle worker! I have slept 8 full hours for many nights since & I feel great!

How fun for you and the girls... and what a sweet sweet hubby!
I had never thought about doing that until you mentioned it, but I think I'll go by myself! :)

Your girls are beauties! What a cute picture!

Fun Nan!!! I can't believe they darted from the camera. Tell them Aunt Robin would have been dancing. You really should look into some of those new sleeping pills that aren't addicting. My friends husband peddles them (his a rep like Jim) and she swears by them. They just get you to sleep they don't keep drugging you all night long. Then get a nice pair of earplugs or those airplane earphones.

That sounds sooooooooo fun! Even if you didn't get the much-needed sleep, I'm glad you had fun.

Please tell me the $170 room was a typo. Even if it wasn't- KUDOS to you to JUST DO IT!!! I so need to just leave my kids and go stay in a hotel for a night - even if it's the one that's 3 blocks away. I agree with Robin - DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS!!! it's the only way to go. I love the music! I need to learn how to do that.

Fun! I hope someday I have a girl that are as cute as yours. But it might jut be easier if one of yours came to Vegas. Are you up for it Em or Alicia?

Turners, yes the room was $170 but we only paid $70 via Priceline. Priceline rocks!

Earplugs hurt my ears. I use them once in awhile. I have a prescription for trazadone but rarely take it b/c I'm afraid I'll run out and I have to take it with food before bed. If I'm awaken in the night when I take these pills I can't go back to sleep. What pills are you guys suggesting?

HOw fun! I've always wanted to stay at Hotel Monaco. I can't wait for mommy/daughter nights when I get a daughter. We're crossing our fingers that it will ever happen in this family.

How fun! I love priceline. I am a new user and have found great deals on room for us while doing overnighters around here.
I can't believe how cute and big your girls are. I remember Emily cleaning the showcases at RCIS when she was 1! Watch out for those teenage years with those cutties!
