Embarrassing? Not this time

On the day before my birthday I was surprised with an email from my hubby. It said I should pack my bags w/ a nice outfit and be ready at 3:00. My mom showed up to babysit (surprise!) and we headed to Salt Lake. We checked in to the Hilton (thanks priceline!) and walked around town so I could get hungry since I just had an early birthday lunch w/ friends. We ate at the Blue Iguana (yummy). At this time I still didn't know what we were going to do until I looked at the sign on the Capital Theatre and saw that Stomp was there.

Eight years ago, Eric surprised me with tickets to Phantom of the Opera there. I borrowed a white floor length stretchy beautiful dress from my neighbor. I didn't have shoes to wear with it so we stopped at Nordstrom Rack to pick up a pair. Not realizing how slick new shoes can be, I got up before the play began to run to the restroom. We were up on the balcony about 15 rows up (we sat in almost the exact seats for Stomp). I slipped and went sliding down 13-14 rows. I landed at the bottom with my stretchy dress up around my waist. I was so embarrassed I told all that was running to help that I was fine and headed to the restroom. By the time I got there, my ankle was swollen. I couldn't even walk. Thank goodness Eric came to see how I was because he basically had to carry me back. I was pampered by those hoping not to get sued for the rest of the night.

Stomp was wonderful and I was careful not to leave my seat until the end of the performance.

Even though I've heard that story before I still laughed out loud. Glad you had a great birthday. Wish Judi would show up at my door ready to babysit.

I've heard this one too- but I still laughed again nan! Such a great story. I bet you were just a little nervous something was going to happen again, but good thing it didn't- all that happened was a good birthday date with your hubby! How fun!

Let me clarify, John was my fav because he was the guy that all my friends wanted to date in high school... and it was really good for the social status. ;) Just kidding...all y'all are the coolest cousins ever. I seriously miss you. Every time we have a hair party here, I miss you, Sherrie and Tauna SOOOO much!

Oh My HECK! I smiled but I did not laugh - I am so feeling your pain. Good for you for staying for the show - I would have left with my head hung low. Kudos to you for brushing it off and not letting it ruin your night. Happy Late Birthday!

Happy Birthday again. Looks like our reunion is postponed for a couple of days. I knew you shouldn't plan a funeral until you know for sure. Have you talked to dad? Mom doesn't seem to know much.

What a fun surprise and now you'll never forget it! Hope it didn't ruin the rest of your trip.
We went to chuck e. cheese but didn't pay them for anything except the tokens. I opted to save my money; we ate dinner and cake at home! I'm so cheap, but the kids are too busy at places like that to eat, anyway.
We'll see you in July. Do you think you'll be around the week of the 21st?
